Virtual 1:1 Coaching

If you have found yourself here, likely you or your child are struggling with the relationship with food and are tired of the amount of energy that food and negative thoughts about body image are consuming.

ENVISION LIFE WITHOUT RIGID MEAL PLANS, MEASURING, OR CALORIE COUNTING.

It’s not easy to overcome patterns that have started to overtake your mind and life. Especially when you try to do it alone. You are right where you need to be and I would love to be a part of your journey to eat without guilt, obsession or fear of losing control by improving your relationship with food. I am here to guide you through a clearly defined roadmap that will help you to redefine what constitutes a good day-without it being dependent on your food choices or the number you see on the scale.

I strive to serve my clients when, where and however you need it most. This is your journey and I am here to support you along the way, no matter the barriers we come up against.

My approach is highly individualized and rooted in developing a strong relationship with everyone I have the pleasure of working alongside. I want to see you thrive!

Have you ever thought…

“I want to trust myself with food, instead of always fearing that I will lose control.”

“I want to eat healthy and treat my body with respect, but every time I try I end up eating more ‘junk’.”

“I want to actually enjoy a meal while I eat it, instead of thinking about whether the food is ‘good’ or ‘bad’.”

“I want to enjoy social occasions with friends and family without worrying that one bite of ‘bad’ food will make me spiral out of control.”

“I want to become a better version of myself and find my identity and worth in who I am as a person, not by the size of my body.”

If this sounds like you, please know that you are not alone. There are so many tools and skills that can help take you from fear of food or food obsession to a place where food only takes up enough time to decide what, when, and how much you are hungry for. It’s possible and I would love to be the person who helps get you there!

HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

Personalized Roadmap:

You are an individual with unique experiences that have led to your relationship with food and body. Each session we meet exactly where you are in that moment. Sometimes we feel like we are rocking it out, meeting goals as planned and other times, life derails us and despite our good intentions we weren’t able to be as intentional around the goals that we set from the previous session. That’s ok. The road to recovery is not linear in a straight line from A to Z. Together, we focus on spiraling up, noticing behaviors and triggers that are taking us away from the life you envision. I’m in this process with you, here to support you through those times where eating patterns change because everything in life just feels so big. We focus on learning with compassion and a non-judgemental lens(you know the one you give so graciously to your loved ones and friends). This journey is about helping you gain access to the tools and skills that support you in feeling your best physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Getting to know each other:

During our first 60-90 minute session we will spend time going over your nutrition and gaining insight into your relationship with food and body. We will create a roadmap that feels right to you focusing on what you hope to achieve through nutrition counseling and what you are looking for with our work together. By completing the secure forms before our first session, we can ensure our first time meeting can be used to focus on processing through what you want out of our work together and supporting you with taking those first steps.

WHAT WE WORK ON:

  • MIND

Our minds are SO powerful that whatever we say to ourselves we will prove true. What we think and believe effects our emotions(the way we feel about food) which then effects our behavior(what we do around food). By challenging our thoughts we can change our behavior and within that framework holds the power to finding food freedom.

  • BODY

Restriction, binge eating, micromanaging your food intake, moving too much or too little and feeling constant anxiety over food choices are not ways to respect your body. I work closely with people in nutrition counseling sessions to teach them how to respect their body through their relationship with food, movement and self-talk. Feeling good on the inside helps you feel good about yourself on the outside, and in turn improves body image and confidence. You do not have to love your body to respect it.

  • SOUL

I help people find their worth and channel their energy towards things in life that are important to them such as their family, relationships or career. By looking at the bigger picture of their life, people who work with me are able to move away from diet/wellness culture that causes them to obsess over food and their body, and instead focus their energy on living their most vibrant, best life. You would want that for your friend and you are equaling deserving!

When you work with me you also get…

  • Online communication and support via a safe communication platform where I hold you accountable to your goals and provide additional communication and support in-between live sessions as needed

  • Worksheets and practices to challenge your thoughts and change your behaviors

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes! Reach out to find out if I acccept your insurance and what options are available if I don’t have your insurance plan. Currently I accept BCBS, Medica, United, and Aetna.

  • I am committed to providing access to care and services that people in our community and Minnesota need. I work with individuals using a sliding fee scale or super bill based on individual circumstances.

  • Improving your relationship with food takes time. Our work together includes giving you the tools to become a competent eater again so you can go into any eating environment and make eating decisions based on your own wants and needs, not someone else’s rules. This is a process of understanding your behaviors, getting new tools, and learning through experiences. Each person’s journey is unique, however most clients find on average a minimum of 3 months is needed.

  • I get it. It is hard to not want to lose weight when everyone around us, including many of our doctors are encouraging weight loss as the main fix to health problems. Many of my clients have spent lifetimes trying to achieve this and their only result was more weight gain and an unhealthy relationship with food and their bodies.

I practice as a weight-inclusive, non-diet dietitian. I promise to improve your relationship with food and your body so you no longer measure your self-worth by a number on a scale. We work together to shift your focus from weight to understanding your behaviors so you can feel your best independent of your weight. We set goals together based on what you hope to see different in your life. Want to have more energy and feel stronger? Would you like to be able to keep up with your kids or grandchildren? We focus on the behaviors you need to get you there without feeling deprived and beating yourself up from the scale.
